MSatterlee: MARK SATTERLEE is a self-taught, multimedia artist raised in northern California, he now lives in the Venice area of Los Angeles. Mark’s multimedia artwork reflects his ardor for the ocean and his concerns about our future as a society. Drawing inspiration while surfing the beaches of California and Mexico, he collects the materials for his work from the land and sea and mixes it with a variety of mediums including resin and fiberglass. From this foundation, he builds on the critical and pointless issues of surf culture’s clash with the modern world using a satirical and cynical point of view regarding politics, common public perceptions and misconceptions. In a humorous interactive experience, he raises issues large and small from the periphery of daily life to global crisis’, inviting the viewer to draw their own conclusions.
